Kalma lang pre, dali na manlang ang 30! |
One source states that the Philippine release date for IMMORTALS is November 30, 2011. The official international release date of the movie is November 11, 2011. And just like any big movie, we are usually included to be among the countries that enjoy simultaneous international release (sometimes, Philippine release dates even come in advance than U.S. and U.K. releases). In the case of IMMORTALS, we were simply not included in its simultaneous international release list. Which seems like a big mistake because the Philippines has been one of the biggest Hollywood-patronizing countries, but at the same time, is one of the countries where piracy and torrent activity is rampant.
A vast amount of ticket sales for IMMORTALS would have been made this week, mainly because there’s a sincerely large amount of people who can’t wait to watch it, and there’s an almost similar large number who’ll watch it because they cannot get that from torrent just yet. By the time the November 30 Philippine release date comes around, many would have already watched the movie via torrent. Big mistake, Hollywood… never underestimate how Pinoys have their lust for movies.

I totally agree.
I want to see it badly because of the fact that all tent pole movies were released last summer and a handful of crappy movies are left for the -BER months. So, thank God for Immortals, Sherlock and M.I.4(?).
hell yeah! good dvd copies would already be available in a few days. :)
so agree i'd but i'd rather wait, this is not just a movie, it's gonna be an experience. i'm just wondering if SM cinemas will show this since it's rated R...
Yup, never underestimate how Pinoys have their lust for movies.
Good news for those selling pirated movies. Malaki na naman ang kita!so next week nasa DVD na yan.
We went to the Mall yesterday after the pacquiao-marquez fight to watch Immortals. We were shocked to know that Immortals is not yet being shown.
So hindi pala ipapalabas ng sabay.. Download na lang ako ng copy sa net.
Yan ang napala ng movie na ito. instead na kumita.. napupunta ngayon sa pirata.
clickthecity isn't even reporting this to be shown by nov 30. which is pretty odd for a blockbuster
Already seen it the cam version haha..
My guess is that theaters want to cash in and fully exhaust profits for Breaking Dawn before they come up and release Immortals. They're also quite literally banking on the fact that a big action movie with plenty of eye candy CGI is best seen on the big screen, then later on High Def. I guess many will opt to see the cam copies but end up going for the 3D or movie experience later...man I hate 3D though : )
It's all business, although it may be a reckless decision on the other hand, since the holidays are approaching. The A and B markets may be preoccupied with activities, and the C market may be preparing budgets for festivities.
My guess is it may play in theaters as early as this week, or when Breaking Dawn ticket sales start to fall. Whatever the case is, I can't wait. : )
Oh no. Happy Feet went up ahead. I didn't see that coming, although my little boy probably did. : )
I think the 30th is a Holiday so it would make perfect sense to release the Immortals on the 29th.
It's Dec 1, where is Immortals?
argh! been waiting for that movie to show...I guess Manila Monkey was right, it all boils down to business. Pinoys are very much supportive of hollywood movies so I think we deserve to be included on the simultaneous international release...
a week more of waiting...argh!
Hi! I heard over at 89.9 FM that the air date is on Dec 7. Next Wednesday. Crazy move to max out Breaking Dawn, and then put on the "Film Festival" right on Christmas so you have no choice, as well as your future grand children to watch Shake Rattle and Roll 100.
We have so many brilliant new gen film makers, but then we put on money makers titled ENTENG NG INA MO on Christmas Day.
I'd love a REAL Manila Film Festival, with the indie guys behind it. I don't think they'd send over material with Kris Aquino over to Cannes anytime soon...
